Amotekun: A Struggle of Right Against Might.

The security situation is Nigeria has so far become a major problem of terrorism in the north eastern region during the early rise of Boko Haram until this time. Recently, these security issues are present not only in the North East region, but escalated to north west, middle belt and down across the river Niger as well.
The fear of insecurity escalating to the South West zone has come with several ways to protect the region from harm, one which is the creation of "Amotekun" security force. The Amotekun which is highly welcomed by the public across the Yoruba land and beyond is hereby threatened by the current administration of General Mohammed Buhari. The regional security force is tagged as "Illegal".
The question by every Nigerian today is, why Amotekun is considered illegal while the Hisbah security force in Northern Nigeria legal by law ?
As it stands, the entire leaders of the region are not ready to back down on protecting their region and the safety of their people. They have also attracted massive support across the country.
It is widely believed that Amotekun is here to stay as this will trigger a nationwide need for regional, state and community policing that's believed to be only card left to enable to lasting peace solution in Nigeria following the inability of the President, General Buhari to answer the call for restructuring that will enable institutions, education and importantly, the security of the nation to work and operate independently and effectively.
In as much as the people of the south west region seem to go ahead with their plan, the federal government and the threats of illegality by the presidency means nothing to them considering the fact that a people have every right to defend themselves. This, to the Yoruba people is clearly a struggle of right against might.
